Smart Home Devices in Miami

Doorbells, locks, thermostats, and cameras — mounted correctly and actually connected to your phone before we leave, not just screwed to the wall.

How this works

Smart home devices fail for one of two reasons: bad mounting or bad setup. We handle both. That means confirming the device is compatible with your home's wiring (a video doorbell needs a transformer with enough amperage — a lot of older Miami homes have doorbell transformers sized for a simple chime, not a power-hungry video doorbell, which is the single most common reason DIY doorbell installs don't work right) and finishing the app pairing and Wi-Fi connection before we consider the job done.

Locks get the trickiest in older Miami-Dade housing with non-standard door prep or thicker-than-average doors (common in older CBS construction) — we check the door and deadbolt backset before installing to make sure the smart lock will actually seat correctly, not just bolt on and bind.

This is popular with property managers and Airbnb hosts specifically for keyless entry — being able to send a guest a code instead of coordinating a physical key handoff is one of the more requested reasons we get called for smart lock installs.

  • Wi-Fi connection and app pairing tested working before we leave

Why hire a pro for this

A smart doorbell running off an underpowered transformer will work for a week and then start dropping connections or bricking itself — which looks like a defective device but is actually a wiring mismatch. Checking that before install (not after a return trip) is most of what separates a working install from a frustrating one.

Frequently asked questions

Will you set up the app and Wi-Fi connection, or just mount the device?

Both — the job isn't done until the device is connected to your Wi-Fi, paired with the app, and tested working. Mounting it without a working connection isn't a finished install.

My old doorbell chime doesn't work with a video doorbell — can you fix that?

Often, yes — it's usually an underpowered or incompatible transformer, which we can check and typically replace as part of the install.

Do you install smart locks on any door?

On most standard residential doors, yes. Some older or non-standard doors need minor prep (backset adjustment, strike plate work) — we check the door before installing to confirm fit.

Is this good for Airbnb keyless entry?

It's one of the most common reasons we get called for smart locks — sending guests a code instead of coordinating physical key handoffs. Ask about multi-door pricing if you're outfitting more than one unit.
